Since Russia has begun to accept Rubles for gas and oil payments many people have jumped on the bandwagon proclaiming the end of US dollar hegemony, for example;  https://www.reuters.com/world/kremlin-warns-west-rouble-for-gas-scheme-is-prototype-2022-04-03/

The truth is slightly more complicated than that. There is no doubt that under a $26 trillion deficit, the US dollar is in big trouble, and Russia's latest strategic move is another nail in that coffin. However the dollar may well be around for some time to come as yet.

Huge shifts in world reserve currency don't usually happen overnight but do so over many years, but make no mistake we are witnessing that shift taking place right now. If the Saudis were for example to start selling crude in Yuan that would be a huge blow to the dollar's value on the FX markets.

It will be interesting to see what happens by 2030, watch this space.
